LJ, Kerry is right when he said that the hook, float, line size make a lot of difference. I use the smallest line size that I can get away without breaking off all the time. I like to use just enough weight to create a slow fall of the bait. I am an old time user of quill floats but any small float that does not cause a lot of resistance will work. I also believe the brim can inhale the bait easier if the distance between the hook and the sinker it is at least 6" apart or more. This is my 2 cents worth.
