I watched the weigh-in for a local tourney at Riverwalk marina in Decatur this afternoon and saw a couple of 4+ pounder LMBass. Sorry, but I am not sure where the bigger fish were caught, but many of the participants were using a pig-n-jig. I think many of them fished the flats west of the train tracks, but at least one boat went as far as Wheeler dam. My guess, and it is really just a guess, would be to fish grass lines and shallow water near drop-offs early and go to deeper water with the jigs, worm, or deep crankbait during mid-day.

You might find some top water activity early in the mornings using a pop-r or buzz bait also. Looks like a lot of smaller fish are being taken, but the big ones are harder to come by. I wish I could give you more good info, but I am not the best bass fisherman and don't actually go after them as much as the real bass-addicts out there. (grin)
