I too used to always fish from the bank, but I never
had a problem finding anywhere to fish. There are
lots of places on the refuge, creeks are everywhere,
not to mention all the pump areas along the river.
I don't know if you've ever been to the Cow Ford ramp, but
that is one bank fishermans dream. All along the campsite
bank fishing is accessable and quite easily at that
The grass is cut and there is a road there.Along the other side of
the old ramp there is plenty of room for bank fishing, but
no,some insist on sitting on the ramp itself and
fish from it.Straight across from the new ramp is
Hatchet Ridge and one can fish from the bank there
also.Where there's a will,there's a way.
Most waters on the south side of river can be waded also
and yes I've done that too.I've had to cut peoples lines from my prop
because they didn't move their lines, which were
right over the ramp itself.Wouldn't have been bad
"IF" they would have had their lines out AWAY from the ramp,
but this was directly over the ramp.Needless to say, they got an earfull
of how stupid they were. They had the nerve to tell
me that it was all the line they had with them
and wanted me to carefully untangle it from my prop.
Yeah,right. 'snip'
I have no problem giving bank fisherman room to fish, but
I expect the same from them and "boat" docks are
for boats,not fisherman.
Glad this post wasn't about jet ski's......That's
another story :)
Take care
