Put in at Honeycomb this morning and worked several beds in the area. These beds have been worked pretty hard over the last week. Managed 13 shellies and 19 'gills. Some of the shellies were pretty decent, maybe around a pound. I don't have a scale and this is my first year to really go after the redears, so I can't be sure on the weight. I will get better at estimating them though. (grin)
Caught fish in water from about 4-5 feet to 2 feet deep on crickets (Yes, I used live bait...) and squirrel tail jigs and a couple of the best shellies were caught on a fly rod using a popping bug with a fly trailer. They hit the popping bug. Gave all fish to a friend.
