We saw more smallmouth today than we have so far this year, but it still wasnt that great. Had one fish that went 5lbs, another that was 14.5" and five or six more under 12". We had one nice largemouth too. All but one of the fish were caught on shiners (Todd caught a tiny smallmouth on a pumpkinseed grub), and they ranged from above the towers to about 100 yards below. Strange thing--NO big stripe at all--had five under 14", didnt even see any signs of big stripe. My prediction: once the effects of this big cold front pass, the smallmouth will really be on in the tailrace.
--did catch 20 good bluegill in the final couple of hours we had left--fishing 7-10 ft deep with slip rigs and tight lines, on deep docks in town creek (using crickets).
