Actually the stripe are doing both. A number of stripe have moved to the back of the creeks and are best caught on topwater baits like redfins or by casting bucktail jigs. This pattern is very hit and miss due to the constantly changing water level and color. A more stable pattern and one that I have depended on for years in the spring is to focus on the fish that stay in the main lake. I concentrate on wind blown points and flats close to deep water freelining shad and casting big topwater plugs. I feel these areas hold fewer but larger fish and my hook/land ratio is better.

Good Fishing!
