I can not give an accurate watertemp; however, to the touch it was darn cold.
Lots of boaters on the water due to tournament.
water was rough and stained, too muddy depending on depth and number of high speeders in the area.
***A word of caution, if there is enough room for a boat to get through, rest assured one of those high speeding, fancy bass boat driving, tournament fisher type persons will plow through it at 80mph.***
Caught 2 spots 1 over/ 1 under. Over was 16.5". Over on 1/32 oz bubble gum from bay springs tackle shop and the under on pink/black 1/16 oz. tube jig. Both on steady troll on the east side of Hog Island in 4.1ft of water.
Never laid hands on a crappie. Watched as contestants turned in fish and saw nothing amazing. In fact many were releasing one and two fish catches with out weigh-in. We watched until we were forced out of the area by the onslaught of tournament fishers coming in to weigh-in and ceating a monstrous tidal fashion wake in a "No Wake Zone."
Great folks there at Bay Springs, thanks to Jack for tips.
I personally feel that Sat was hard for us non-professionals because we do not know how to fish in adverse conditions and when it does get rough we forget the advice given us.
