Been slaying them in lower Guntersville on cloudy days around the boat houses for the past month. In the past 2 weeks they were holding 2-3 foot deep in 4-8 foot of water, under the docks. Fishing the edges gets a few, but you need to flip under the docks for best results. Using 4lb test line with 1/16 or 1/32 oz jig with albino bass assassin. Have tried minnows, tube jigs, twister tails, the the bass assassin is best.
Most of the fish have been in the 9-11 inch range, with the average size slowly increasing. Went yesterday (Wednesday 3/7, it was sunny), only managed 7 in about 90 minutes before dark. But they were all over 12 inches long and more aggressive. I think the high pressure, cool nights, and sunshine slowed down the bite, they were also about 4-5 foot deep. Can't wait for water to warm back up a little more, combine it with some clouds/rain and it will turn on again. Fish it slow, and set the hook lightly on any tap.
