I have received many emails asking whether the NAFF message board will be opened again and when.
First, I hope to open the board again, but I have been sick for nearly three weeks and am just now feeling close to normal, with enough energy to do anything.
I am not sure that the NAFF message board can be re-opened in the format it was, given that it (the script) didn't allow much for securing the board from malicious spam posts.
I am not sure what/who was responsible for the spam posts that caused me to shut down the board, but it may have been "malicious code" on unsuspecting people's computers using their service to place the posts or it may have been one or more "sick" individuals who, for whatever perverted reasons, thought it worthy or funny to target the NAFF (and probably other message boards) with their garbage. It would seem that people with that much knowhow and will power could find something more constructive to do with their talents.
The HiWaay.net service I have now does not provide SSL, PHP, SQL, etc. needed to run the more secure scripts that would help to keep these idiots from posting on the NAFF message board. I am actively looking for a solution, but I can tell you now that it is going to take a while.
In any case, my thanks to the loyal NAFF contributors and please be patient. I hope to have the NAFF message board back up when I can. No promises though.
