There is a place to fish on the southside in Tuscumbia by the old sound recording studio. The water is fairly shallow,8'-12', but I have heard of crappie caught from the pavalion. Down stream about 100 yards is the beginning of the OLD barge channel where you can see a ridge of rock out about 75' and the water is deeper there. I have caught a few monster smallmouth (from a boat) in the eddys. There is quite alot of fish caught on the northside at the discharge station (yuck) but I have had someone from the bank pull a gun out when drifting by just for a couple of quick throws with the bait casting net. My son-in-law has caught 25 lb+ stripes where Spring Creek runs into the river. Spring Creek is in the park in Tuscumbia, also trout is stock in the park but an additional permit needs to be purchased.
Remember the Reason for the season :)
