We were using bream. I cut the heads off and use them. Rarely do i use the body. Cut close to the back of the head on an angle toward about the middle of the body . By the top of the head you should see blood. If not cut a little closer to the head at the top. We went back Sunday but only got one 17 lb blue. You never know till you get there, but if you dont get there you never know. The water temp was 53.
