Wheeler water temps

I finally bought a digital temp gauge and it showed 52 degrees surface water temp near the causeway on hwy31. Has anyone else taken a reading or readings of the surface water temps on Wheeler lately? Since this device is new to me, I am not sure of its accuracy or reliability.
