Sorry so long in replying working !! UGH Anyway the Sauger are biting better than they have in the last 3 years but we didnt have anywhere to go but up given how bad it has been.On the Huntsville side its from the lock wall down to the end of the walk down as being the most fished bank places. On the Arab side its all goverened by the amount of water flowing. If there are more than 6 gates open, people fish from the boat launch up to just above the old ferry landing and if there are no gates or under 6 open or just the turbines running ,they fish from the end of the dam wall down to the concrete walk down.On this side its 99% fishing with a 1/8th to 1/4 oz round head jig using either a curly tail 3 or 4 inch grub(action bait 25pack at sprawl mart)in green or chartruse or hot pink or pearl colors.Unpainted jigs work best but if you just got to have a painted one flo red or yellow is good esp in muddy water.THE MAIN THING tip the jig with a medium Tuffy minnow!!!!Cast up current and let it bump down as you move it in.I recommend 6lb test,as the smaller line allows you to get down quicker and you must be as close to the bottom as possible!!Yes you will hang a lot till you get the feel for it so come prepared.
