Jerry if you look on the map, it is right below mile marker 323 on the south side. Keep in mind that this area is not very big and it is not easy to find. I have no idea why it is there except that I think it might have been an area long ago that gravel was dredged up. This area is about 30 feet wide and 60 yards long. Not many know it is there. In this particular area the bottom shows up as being hard, like rock or gravel. Again, I am not sure why it is there because the river maps do not show this feature. There are other areas like this above Ditto Landing that I have seen gravel being taken by dredge machines. There is also a gravel pit just above Hobbs Island. I am not sure if these guys are the same one's getting the gravel but it is possible. Good luck and wear your life jacket!
