New Motorguide Digital Technology....Reliable? Interference w/ Sonar??

Anybody using Motorguide's new digital trolling motor? It would seem that this technology would be a real battery saver. I'm concerned that operating the motor close to a transducer might affect sonar quality. I'm especially concerned because I want to use a transom mount trolling motor....where my transducer is mounted only about 12" away.
