I know just what you mean! It is getting cooler (finally!) and the water is getting down to where it *should* be.
Don't know about the grass, but Alex and I should be getting out this week to try our luck and we (one or the other) will post about our results.
From my research and reading, the crappie supposedly have a 7 year cycle. That is, approximately every 7 years we have a BOOM year and, I suppose we have a slump in between. I can't quote the study or a link to it, but I do remember the timing stated.
I don't know how accurate this "data" is, but we may be working into the peak of one of these 7 year cycles. Who knows? Fingers crossed! (grin)
