I've read all the comments about folks taking limits of crappie. Although I don't hardly ever fish for crappie (and rarely a limit), I have a difficult time believing that a lake as large as Guntersville can be harmed by fishing pressure for crappie. These fish seem to reproduce and raise fast. I'm no expert in this, but crappie can take over a small pond / lake very quickly and stunt due to over population and food supply. In my opinion, if the population and size have been affected, it's primarily because of enviromental & management reasons -- not because people take their limits. But just my thoughts.....thanks for letting me vent! God bless and good fishing!
