You are right, we all have to adjust to what the fish wants, they don't usually think like us fishermen. As I stated before, I have seen very few people fishing for crappie the way I do, but I am enjoying fishing shallow and catching lots of fish, most are small, but on a 9' UL with 4# line, they are all fun.
In the hard cold winter I do fish deeper and with minnows, but then I follow the schools of bait and Loons, but there again adjustment is the key.
