Kerry, you did a good job answering what is an incredibly complex and variable question. Its just not as simple as current = g'ville dam is running. I've noticed all sorts of odd phenomena that on the surface you wouldn't expect.

For instance down there on holt lake, right near the dam there is Jim Mack branch - a small creek whose mouth is about 25 feet from the water intake portion of the dam. When they are really monekying around at the dam, I've noticed the creek start running backwards, then 5 minutes later reverse course and run swiftly the correct way, then 5 minutes later reverse course and flow backwards again. I don't mind that at all of course, it creates multiple opportunites and angles to target fish that are used to that variable current.
