Crappie in Guntersville are starting to move shallow. The quality of fish is fantastic, fat and healthy. Fish are being caught in the flats and around riprap. The depth is 2 feet or less. Fish seem to be bitting early in the mornings and around 9 or 10 AM the bite slows. Minnows are doing quite well but the jig bite under a cork is really getting them. Colors to use is red and chartreuse, chartreuse and silver glitter and crystal shad. Fish these colors under a small cork with a stiop and go retrieve. Watch for the strike when the cork settles. This spring is going to be fantastic for BIG slab crappie in Guntersville! Be careful and wear those life jackets.
