Not first hand knowledge, but from news reports...
A barge was locking from Pickwick to Wilson lake. The end of the barge that was at the Wilson end of the lock was too close to the "lift gate" on that end. When the water level was raised in the lock the barge caught on the lift gate and pushed it up and out of alignment breaking some of its anchorings to the lock.
Last I heard was they expect to clear the barge from the gate by tomorrow and then start repairs. The auxilliary (small lock) at Wilson has been put into "some" service, but it is very small and not expected to be used much.
There are at least 40 barges waiting to lock through. The barge that caused the problem contained xylene (sp?).
No telling how long it will be before the lock is back in operation.
