theres alot of things to consider, size, depth, is there springs available, is there gonna be clay there to line the bottom, what type of equipment are you gonna use to dig with. is there rock there?
when i dug my pond i went down 4 ffet on one end and hit rock, on other end 6 feet and hit rock, didnt hit any springs and hardly any clay, had to build banks up high , spread bentonite on bottom and banks, then built a waterfall and pump water out of our creek,,
as far as stocking it , best thing to do is first 6 to 8 months its full only stock fat head minnows, (they spawn sev times a year) then add your catfish and bass , bream etc, check out kens fish farm out of georgia, they have a website, they have a hybrid bream that will grow up to 5 lbs. in 3 years.. they are huge....gimme a email if you need any help
