Forgot to mention that more needs to be done in the area of stopping pollution and contaminants from reaching our waters, but I don't think the amount of pollution and contaminants have necessarily risen so much as the river's ability to deal with it.
Of course, the big "G" has plenty of grass and aquatic plants, millfoil, etc. But have any of you (I am sure some of you have) noticed the lack of those natural water cleansing agents downstream of Guntersville? Why? Agricultural runoff? Septic tanks? Commercial chemical plants? Politics?
