Okie doke. I'll probably take a couple of hours one day and drive all over the place above Wheeler Dam and play with the temp meter.
It seems to me that an approach would be to note temp readings at different depths in many different places, ranging from the turbine intakes to the backs of feeder creeks. Elk River and Spring Creek would be checked, too. It would be interesting what a "snapshot" temperature profile might look like for all of these places within a couple of hours on a given day.
If I did this once per month, I would expect to learn a lot about temperature gradients in the river and its feeder creeks.
But am i going to catch any more fish????
