I know few of you will beleive me, but, there are keeper crappie to be had on Guntersville and other bodies of water for those willing to put up with the heat, milfoil knats, and boat traffic. Of course most are small, but some over 1.5lb, and there are lots of bream, bass, skipjacks, and yellow stripe to be had.
We are fishing from safe lite untill we get good and hot (before noon) along the inside grass line, sitting in 8-10 ft of water throwing to the breakline of the grass. 4lb test line using 1/32oz jig with 2 inch cutly tail grub. Yes, some get into the grass and break off, but some get to come home with me. We are returning the bass for the pro's, but the Crappie still taste good to me. Location is from BB Comer to the power line. We have to hunt for them each week when we go. Wedowee is producing some good catches as well.
Good Luck: Be safe: and Drink plenty of water...
