I don't avidly chase flatties....best bet for daytime flatties is fish in current, anchor above and fish in cover (Trees, Rocks, etc.) Flatheads will usually stay in the 10-20ft range this time of year....a lot of them are on bed, plan on getting two bites a trip if your lucky......after most fish come off bed Early to Mid July.....they will feed more often, and nighttime is your best bet, fish shallow flats...with good stumps/brush, areas where you typically catch good numbers of crappie and bream in the day....sunfish and rockbass will stay lively longer, and out fish most baits, big gizzards will also work if you can keep them alive.....hook em through the mouth or nose, to keep them alive and swimming.
