Absolutely! I recommend though that you go down to the end of the paved road (the old highway) instead of turning onto the first gravel road past the last little bridge. It's a straighter shot and less curves that people tend to go a little fast around. It goes right along I-65 and then after turning a sharp left you come up to the other road, then just go right and about 1/4 mile to launch.
As far as fishing, the most I've caught is catfish, a handful of bass, and a few bream and stripes. Best to go down around the mouth and fish where the channel comes out. It's a nice sand/shell/gravel bottom with scattered stumps. It's excellent for crappie too when it's the right time of year.
