I fish that pond all the time as its less than 10mins from home. I mean the large, clear water one on Discovery Dr bordered on one side by the "Colonial Centre" or Colonial something. I'd go just for an hour or 2 and usually catch a bass or 2. Never caught anything big, with my biggest going maybe 1.5lb max.
Its full of bass and my favorite techniques are either to fish soft stick worms (YUM Dingers, Senkos, etc) & soft plastic flukes or better still, surface lures especially buzzbaits when the weed growth gets real thick. Jerkbaits work well too (Husky Jerks, X-Raps). Spinnerbaits too of course.
What sort of fish? I'm always bassin' so I don't normally catch the 'gills most bait fishos I see fishing there. I've caught a green sunfish once on a buzzbait of all things, when I stopped reeling just before lifting it out of the water. I've also seen & caught crappie there. I've never seen a snake there.
I've never done well on the smaller pond across Bradford Rd (Boeing is right next to it). I've seen people catch fish there & even seen a few good sized bass there, but I usually fare poorly.
As for security guards, I've never encountered one at either ponds I've mentioned.
