I did a quick search on the TVA web site and was unable to find any information about the Honeycomb ramp closing. I did, however, conclude that it is indeed TVA property and is defined as Parcel 6 with a use defined as "Developed Recreation" in a 2001 Environmental Impact Statement. The detailed description of property use is:
Parcel 6: Used for a TVA public boat ramp, Sunrise Marine Marina, and Honeycomb Campground.
The 2001 EIS was an evaluation of the 1983 plan to manage the properties and some proposed mods. I would hope that if the plan is to close the ramp for the new condos, a new ramp would be built due to the convenient location to Huntsville. They have 47 acres so it makes sense that this would be possible. Also, during construction, they may have to close the ramp?
Lots of speculation for the blind sheep out here... hopefully a net positive impact if something changes. I have friends that have problems backing down that existing crooked ramp. hehe.
