I agree the larger flyrods are better for the panfish/mayfly bite. Its not like we are fishing chalk streams in Dover for trout, 5 wts are nice but you don't have to worry about a bass breaking an 8 or 9 wt, instead you look forward to them.

On which hatches have fish, my theory is that a lot of times we get to the show late and the fish are already gorged, that or they have yet to find the hatch but I doubt thats the case.
