If you sink cedar trees, make sure the needles are NOT GREEN. The resin in the needles does not allow proper algae growth that attracts MORE baitfish. Wait until they turn brown, or I have also heard of burning them off, but be carefull. I have never tried that method. "Green needle trees" will work, but they may take a year or so to be very productive.
