some good info here on the in's and out's. i have an alumacraft with a 50 mercury. The boat is well made the motor is not. Took it to Anderson cause Mercury said so, well after $900 of repair , mostly to replace parts i did not need. the same problem recurred. took it back and they could care less. ended up fixing the problem with j-b weld.
