Weiss and Guntersville are the best big crappie lakes that I've fished. Wheeler also has some nice crappie, but I don't know of a place that rents fishing boats there either. The only small bodies of water with good crappie, to my knowledge, are private. A good trolling motor would work for fishing at Town Creek. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion.
