If your gonna be right there at the state park with only a few hours here or there, I would first try the rock bluffs like Troy said, starting in the mouth of 1st creek there is a good little bluff right there on the western side of the mouth, then a series of sloughs - these are the same type of sloughs you see on wilson, they hold smallies just the same, and you wont have to take the boat out and put it in below wilson which can be just as finicky as any other place. If after a few days you don't do any good on those bluffs then I might try the tailwaters, but also don't ignore the south end of wheeler extending from the slough with the Joe Wheeler cabins ramp towards spring creek.
