The advisories are only for the areas and species which they have actually tested, however this doesn't mean that areas and species not listed are completely safe. They don't test, to my knowledge, all areas or species. That is why I advise common sense and moderation in fish consumption from any Alabama waters even if there is no advisory listed for a given area or species from that area.
The Coosa river has MANY pollution problems (see the .pdf file I listed) and I personally wouldn't eat ANYTHING from it. I think the Coosa feeds into Logan Martin and eventually into Weiss (not sure about that), if so, there is cause for concern there.
I do eat crappie from the Tennessee river and "Flint" creek, but I don't eat that many. Out of the 40 to 50 crappie I filet and bag/freeze each year (8 filets or 4 fish to a bag), I usually have more than enough to last a year or more.
