Check the pro bass fising circuit web sites. Make sure you don't pick a weekend a big tourney is being fished on the lakes unless you are use to fishing with the tournaments going on. A good set of binoculars can give you some good insight into the hotspots based on the Pros research, etc.
I would recommend the North and South Saulty areas on the banks that have southern exposure and warm up quick. Also, the Seibol creek islands and Red's marina islands and all the various creek areas, etc.
Check the local web sites and fishing stores to see what is hot at the time you are coming.
It can vary a couple of weeks or more based on warm up patterns, front passage and water conditions (rain, etc.)
There are plenty of fish, the trick is the right timing with the right bait/lure and presentation.
This is all for catching bass. If you are after Cats, Stripe, Crappie, Bream, etc. the approach will vary greatly durng March.
