Went for the first time in a while in my boat Saturday since the lake and river is about dried up for bank fishing and tried some of my old treetops.I only caught 3 but they were sows with the largest going 2lbs 7 oz if you can believe the de-liar scales I weighed her on (grin)!!the other 2 were right at 2 lbs.The strange thing about them was that they were true white crappie not the bridge/concrete black crappie that have taken over gville .They were caught in old established tree tops in 15 to 13 ft of water and i was slip cork fishing with minnows set at 12 to 11 ft. using a #2 gold crappie hook. Also, before I left I added some more trees to the spots i fished. Hopefully more white crappe will show up in the future.Several of my old places had evidently rotted out as i was unable to find any structure where they should have been .Anyway Happy new year to all and lots of fishing trips to yall and wear that life vest!!
