I didn't bother to take the boat out today, but I did get out on the bank in several places. Not a bite anywhere until late this afternoon near dark at Day Park (the pumps) at the north end of the hwy31 causeway. I did mange to catch one keeper crappie and dropped one other crappie that probably was a keeper. This area may turn on at night while the water stays up, but I was too tired to try it tonight. Maybe tomorrow night...

Otherwise, give it a few days to a week for the water to settle down and temps to get out of this mode of mid 20's at night and 40's to low 50's (at best). Water temps are the main problem now along with very fast currents. The muddy water doesn't concern me as much as the temps and fast flow. I still think this is going to be a banner season for crappie. It will probably just happen a little later than we have gotten used to and probably last later into april and may.

We'll see if this theory holds any water and FISH! (grin)
