Purdy is an excellent fishery! The problem with it is that there really are no topo or depth curve maps availible for it making it very hard to get a grasp of the bottom structure with out spending hours and hours out there with a depth finder. I'm not surprised that there are good reports posted in the paper just simply because the people who do know what lies beneath the surface can really wear them out. Now granteed I haven't fished out there much but when I have it's been with people who know a little bit about the lake so we've always caught fish. These guys have taken the time just putting around with a depth finder and have gone to the trouble of taking pictures when the water was way down a few years ago (due to the drought). They also swear that Purdy would be swarmed with bass boats every week end year round if it weren't for the boat restrictions and 9.9hp limit.
