The kids and I have had fun catching them also.

However, I was at the wall below the Big G and the Drum were lined up by the hundreds making
the loop. Some were huge.

I could not see another species of fish little long catch anything but the Drum.

I guess I have dreams of seeing bass (salts, hybrids and whites) as thick and plentful as the drum.

The drum must be prolific breeders and evidently have no problems with the varying water depth and conditions.

I don't have any scientific data but I do wonder if the high drum population has a significant adverse effect on the population of bass in the dam tail waters.

I don't want to get everyone started on the Cormorants but something needs to be done about them.

I use to see them predominantly up in the Big G, but now they are thick in upper wheeler and appear to be spreading quickly.
