Red I usually fish with a pencil popper and a red fin. most people use a top dog and a red fin if I were going this evening I would use along with these two I would carry a 2 inch foley spoon riged with a 3/4 oz. sinker if they are schooling they will hit one of these. But its a shame you cant go early. Let me explain this is the move ment of the fish from the bank that I am aware of the fish started hitting top in the spring just below the ferry crossing hitting top only in the evening when fish start hitting top below guntersville this is where they start. then the bite stopped by early summer below the ferry crossing. and the fish started schooling off of the point out in front of the guard shack you could get bit early or late but early was a little better as time went on the gap between the ealy bite and late bite grew larger in favor of the ealy bite. as we moved on up in to summer the bite stopped off the point and the fish started schooling between the wall and the point in what we call the bend to start with you could get bit early or late with in a few weeks they bite better in the morning and the gap has been growing ever since. I have had times when the flood gates would run and I would move back down to the ferry crossing and fish. but with out floods and hurricanes this is the pattern they seem to take. but the fishing day in and day out is better in the mornings I believe it is because as the water is turned off at night the bait schools up and when the water is turned on it scatters them. BUT ANYWAY GOOD LUCK!!!!!
