I definitely agree with all the afore mentioned. I live in Decatur but go to school at the University of Alabam--ROLL TIDE. In my 2002 monte carlo I averaged about 21 mpg around town (not too shabby but definitely room for improvement)this was with agressive starts and stops. I slowed down on the two hour drive to Tuscaloosa, just enough to constantly keep me in overdrive, which is about 61 or 62 due to a race chip which keeps me in a lower gear throughout the higher RPMs (Good for those pesky imports, bad for the back pocket). Even with the chip i jumped from the 21 mpg's at which i was rated correctly in the city to 26. And on the road, I get 34 mpg which is 6 miles above the highway rating on the vehicle..LONG STORY-told all that to say this, with the money I saved I can now actually pay payments on the car and afford to go fishing..so tight lines and roll tide to everybody!
