Another good tip for an additional 1-3 MPG is to purchase a cleaner, better brand gasoline (but NOT a higher octane one). I consistently get 3-4 more miles per gallon on BP/Amoco fuels than the cheap off-brand stuff. Also, never fill up at a station while a tanker is filling the underground storage tanks. Many impurities that affect mileage float on top and are mixed when the tankers are emptying.
