The Cahaba River is great if you have a canoe and the water is not too muddy. There are several stretches to try but the two I do most are Grants Mill Road to Liberty Park and Liberty Park to 280. Both strecthes will take 6 to 10 hours (depending how much fishing verses paddling you do). Lots of spots and redtails and the 280 strecth you can pick up a largemouth or two. Use buzzbaits in the morning and spinner baits as the sun comes up. The key is to get the bait as close to the shore as possible. Most strikes occur within two feet of the bank.
