I havent fiddled for them in years but havent heard they were on any endangered list which is the only reason i could think of its illegal unless you are on someones land with out permission being the only other thing i could think of.Other wise you need deep woods with a good coating of dead leaves (not pine needles) and the ground beneath them good and moist which shouldnt be a problem given the rain we have had .You can tell if there are any worms where you are trying to fiddle by looking for their castings where they have come out .It will be a doodled up little mound of dirt and the ground will be spongy under the leaves if there are a lot of worms .Other than that Cooleys groceries( The store is located on the Arab side of gville dam road) use to carry then.Hope this helps a bit and good luck!!
