Tried Cypress creek in Florence saturday with very little success. Finally managed to catch a few very small large mouth and a couple of bream. Also tried the stream which comes out near the new Patton Island bridge project. Lots of shad schooling but I didn't see anything chasing them. Didn't try to go up to the dam... too shallow. Tried several spots in the lock canal with absolutely no luck and finally tried in the barge harbor near McFarland. There I managed to pick up 4 small crappie using a jig under a cork. Fished riprap in 4-6 feet of water with the jig about 3 feet deep. 16th oz flo-red head with chartreuse/glitter bass assassin grub.

Didn't see anyone else doing any better and there were still lots of shad dead and dying all around.

Tried from the bank in the barge harbor on sunday and managed 2 very small crappie using the same gear.

Good luck!
