Joe J, I think the reason there were a lot of bass on bed in this area is because of the spring. The water temp in this area was in the mid 60's. Out on the main river channel the water temp was 80.2 degrees. It would not suprise me if bass in this area spawned all summer long. The water in this area stayes crystal clear and cool all summer. I will definately be going back to this area someday. Not many people can get back to this area in a bass boat. I had to travel about 350 yards in less than a foot of water. Even with my motor trimed all the way up, I still managed to hit and even run up on some stumps. Once I got back in there the water was consistant at 4-5 feet. The problem with this palce is if TVA drops the water a few inches, you are there for a while! Very cool place. I gave it a new name, "The Lost Spring".
