Catch crawfish 2 to 3 inches long.
Run a No. 2 hook through the bottom of the second joint in his tail and make the hook point stick out of the top of the crawfish's shell or just attach the bait to the hook with a samll rubberband...hook pointed up toward the top of their back.
Keep the crawdad on or near bottom ...a couple of small splitshot may be needed if the water is moving.
Remove the crawfish's pinchers if they start to grab weeds, vegatation ....or your line.
Cast toward structure or the bank in the clear holes. Thenj ust let it sit there for several seconds, then move it toward you a few feet abd then let it be still for several seconds, etc.
Most importantly set the hook as soon a you feel the fish or see you line moving, otherwise
they will swallow it quick and you can't get it out without killing the fish.
Catch and release is a challenge using live crawfish.
