I fish for big bluegills (and some big bass) on Thursdays and Saturday afternoons, weather permitting.
Last Thursday I caught (and released) around 100 bluegills, shellcrackers, and big coppernose bluegills that weighed up to 2-pounds each in about three hours of fishing. The average was around a pound each, some smaller and many bigger.
I fish with crickets when I want fast action, but yellow or firetiger Roostertails are steady action too.
I will only say that I fish south of Birmingham on 12 private ponds up to 40 acres, all with locked gates.
I get tired of going alone and am looking for a fishing pal to go with me. I only have one seat available in my jonboat per trip.
The trip is free, just buy your food and gas.
I practice catch and release, but you may keep a few fish to eat per trip.
