I believe the location in the lake, hence sun exposure, hence water temperature, and weather has more effect on the timing of the peak bream spawn than does the phase of the moon.
Does anyone have any scientific data related to moon phase and bream spawning.
The first full moon in May can vary from early May to late May.
When we have a slow spring warm up like this year it looks like the 23 May full moon may be dead on for the peak.
However, I can remember when we have had a early spring warmup with a late May first full moon and the bream spawning peaked in early May.
This is not scientific but from my log books.
